The Pros:Now includes FM radio. Larger 2.2" display. Small and lightweight.
The Cons:Created to be used as part of a closed system - iTunes, Apple music store and iPod. Track wheel is of poorer quality than older generations (not specific to the 5th generation only). Limited codec support - no FLAC, OGG, WMA, etc... support.
The Apple iPod nano 5G is an advanced iPod announced by Apple in September of 2009. It maintains the same basic outward appearance as its fourth-generation predecessor — sleek body, aluminum casing, and white clickwheel — but there are a tad few changes.

The most dramatic improvements include a larger 2.2” LCD screen in the front AND a VGA camcorder in the back. Essentially, Apple is trying to combat the notorious Flip Video (and other mini video recorder products) and will in fact even be pricing the Nano (8GB) at $149.99, which is the same price for an entry-level Flip camcorder. Other notable features include FM radio, a pedometer, and even a microphone with a voice recorder. Included also a plethora of spiffy video effects/filters: heat vision, tunnel vision, security cam vision, B&W, sepia, light tunnel, cyborg.
