The Creative Zen X-Fi2 is a relatively inexpensive multimedia player released in late 2009. It offers a 3" TFT LCD touchscreen that is expected for modern players released around that time. One nice feature that the multimedia player offers is the built-in speakers which are great for sharing music with friends.

bxmuscle: #creative_zen_x_fi2 I'm a educator and just bought the Zen X-fi2 as an upgrade from my old Zen Vision M. I've long used the Vision M for its A/V out function to use in classrooms with built-in technology for this, allowing me to use virtually anything online as potential teaching materials. Students loved it and it allowed me to produce tailor-made visual materials for my classes. But the X-fi2's A/V function does not work even with Creative's own cable purchased along with the device. I've learned since buying the device and cable that this is a design flaw that some have jerry-rigged a solution for by splicing and rewiring the cable, and am trying to duplicate it. But I strongly advice against purchasing the Zen X-Fi2 if you might ever what to connect it to your TV or other external monitor. Jul 30, 10

Anonymous: I have also had trouble with the a/v cable. Upon plugging it in to my tv, the audio works fine, but I get no visual at all. I'm interested in the rewiring that you mentioned. Can you give more info on that? I don't understand why they toute the cable if it doesn't work. Is there maybe an additional program that needs to be installed to enable the video out function? While I am pleased with the product as a whole (the external speaker, microhone, FM capabilities, SD storage, and sound quality are excellent features) I am disappointed in the failure of the video out function.
