SanDisk Sansa e250
$40.00
Released May, 2006
The Pros:Plays WMA files where many players do not. Menu interface is intuitive, very low learning curve out of box. Expandable memory capabilities via SD is rather unique for this price range.
The Cons:Fails to playback really large files (e.g. movies), they should be broken into smaller ones. Included headphone quality is not great compared to other players in this style.
The Sansa e250 is a mid-range 2GB MP3 player, formerly part of Sandisk's line of iPod Nano challengers. The device holds around 500 songs, and can also play photo slideshows and videos on its 1.8" TFT screen.

It features a microSD slot for expanded storage capacity, and achieves good battery life of up to 20 hours with a replaceable lithium-ion battery. The player is compatible with a number of digital music stores and subscription services that support PlaysForSure technology. The e250 also features an FM tuner and live radio recording, as well as voice recording. Although much thicker and less stylish than the iPod Nano, the e250 packs a long list of features that make it a worthy competitor.
