SanDisk Sansa Shaker 1GB

$40.00 Released November, 2005

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Simple, kid-friendly design available in bright colours. Intuitive "interface" allows you to randomly select a new song by shaking the device. Features a relatively large built-in speaker.

The Cons:Doesn't feature a built-in rechargeable cell like most modern mp3 players.

Available in blue and pink, Sandisk's Sansa Shaker is a 1GB MP3 player aimed at children. Shaking the toy-like device makes it skip to a randomly selected track, while turning the bottom band skips to the next track.

Ther player features a built-in speaker and two headphone jacks for sharing music with friends. A 1GB SD memory card is included, enough for about 250 songs, but can be replaced with higher-capacity cards for more storage. Lacking a screen, the Sansa Shaker doesn't support photo or video playback, and also lacks an FM tuner, supporting only MP3 audio. Battery life is also fairly poor, at 10 hours with one AAA battery.
