Sony Walkman NWZ-X1051

The Sony Walkman NWZ-X1051 is a cordless MP3/MP4 player that features a 3” wide OLED touch-screen display with WQVGA resolution. The second of three Sony NWZ walkmans, the NWZ-X1051 changes pace from its predecessor (the NWZ-W202 MP3 player) in that it is not integrated into a pair of headphones.

Nevertheless, the NWZ-X1051 is considered a massive upgrade due to its touch-screen display, not to mention its whopping 16GB of storage space and MP4 capability. In addition, the NWZ-X1051 sports a digital “S-Master” amplifier, digital noise canceling, a Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE), and touch-panel operation with a hybrid button system. The NWZ-X1051 also boasts a pair of 13.5mm EX headphones, YouTube streaming and music meta link, multi audio/video codec support for MP3/WMA/AAC/L-PCM and AVC/MPEG-4/WMV DRM, and an integrated WiFi that delivers Internet content and other services such as Podcast auto download. Slated to drop in the Summer of 2009, there is currently no set price for the Sony Walkman NWZ-X1051.
